Southern Nevada’s First Addiction Recovery Hospital

Tips for Supporting Your Loved One in Recovery

A Look Inside Las Vegas Recovery Hospital in Henderson

Las Vegas Recovery Hospital (LVRHN) has officially opened its 3rd- and 4th-floor wing at Dignity Health's Rose de Lima Hospital in Henderson, Nevada. This “first-of-its-kind addiction recovery hospital” is bridging a critical gap in healthcare by redefining what it means to treat addiction. The hospital merges acute medical care with integrated addiction treatment.

According to Stacey Zierath-Campa, CEO of LVRHN, the hospital is meant to take recovery a step further. Patients can seek treatment for addiction and corresponding medical conditions in one place. In a statement to KSNV NBC Las Vegas, Campa states:

“When patients in withdrawal or active addiction arrive at emergency rooms with infections, organ dysfunction, or severe medical instability, they often hit a [wall].

“Emergency departments can provide initial stabilization, but they are overwhelmed and not typically equipped for the prolonged medical management and integrated addiction treatment these patients need.” Las Vegas Recovery is equipped and ready to handle patient care.

What Makes LVRHN Different?

Campa and her team are bringing a licensed acute care hospital to Dignity Health. Patients whose conditions are too complex for traditional rehabs but don’t require intense, short-term emergency treatment will now be able to get quality support on their journey to recovery.

The staff at LVRHN provides a multidisciplinary approach that goes beyond standard recovery programs in southern Nevada. Key benefits include:

  • 24/7 medical supervision: We hire the best certified doctors and recovery specialists who treat a wide range of acute conditions.
  • Equipped to handle serious infections, respiratory issues, and organ dysfunction.
  • Rigorous Assessments: comprehensive testing to monitor neurological and metabolic responses to withdrawal.
  • New Facility: The 32,000-square-foot facility features 68 beds designed for patients who require 24/7 medical monitoring.

Specialized Medical Services

LVRHN’s core services include the following:

  • Serious Infections: Treatment of life-threatening conditions like sepsis, endocarditis, and abscesses due to IV drugs.
  • Organ and Metabolic Care: Treatment of hepatitis, cirrhosis (liver disease), acute renal failure, and metabolic imbalances.
  • Cardiovascular Support: Treatment of cardiovascular conditions like arrhythmias, hypertensive crises,  and heart failure exacerbated by substance use.
  • Neurological Monitoring: Treatment of neuropathy, withdrawal-related seizures, delirium tremens, and related conditions.
  • Medication-Assisted Stabilization: LVRHN also provides medication-assisted stabilization to help control withdrawal symptoms safely and lay a foundation for sobriety.

A Critical Partner for Local Emergency Rooms

Outside of patient care, the hospital also serves as a strategic partner to the Southern Nevada healthcare system. LVRHN helps reduce emergency room backlogs and lower readmission rates. High-quality care should be accessible to everyone in this community.

LVRHN also accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance plans to remove financial barriers to wellness, so that patients can focus entirely on regaining stability and preparing for long-term wellness.
